This site is both a dynamic blog of the thoughts of Eugene Ray, as well as a site for scholars and students to review the works from a fifty year ouvre.

Born in Louisiana in 1932, Eugene celebrates 80 years on spaceship earth this year. The works shown are masterful architectural drawings, visionary collage and photo montage.

Much of the work is inspired by the life changing witness to a UFO as a young boy in 1947.

From 1969 t0 1996, Eugene Ray founded and headed one of the most unique Environmental Design programs in the United States at San Diego State University in Southern California.

During this time he traveled the world , giving illuminated lectures on his theories and work. Through his travels he was able meet and to bring major thinkers from his generation as visiting scholars to the SDSU program including Sir Peter Cook of Archigram fame, Bruce Goff, Reyner Banham, Buckminster Fuller, Ant Farm, Jersey Devil and many more.

In 1978 a crew of young Environmental Design students assisted Eugene Ray in building his most widely published project "The Silver Ship" in La Jolla, California.
